WeShareBooks Terms of Service & Copyright Policy

1. Non-Profit Status & Platform Role
WeShareBooks is a public-benefit, non-profit platform operated by WeShare Resources Society (hereinafter referred to as “the Organization”). The Organization provides free technical infrastructure to support community book sharing, order status tracking, and credit system management. The Organization is a non-commercial entity and is not a seller, lessor, custodian, owner, or guarantor of any physical books. All book sharing and borrowings are voluntary activities conducted directly between community members.
2. Assumption of Risk & Limitation of Liability
- “As-Is” Provision: All book sharing services are provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis. The Organization makes no representations or warranties regarding the physical condition, cleanliness, completeness, authenticity, or safety of any shared books.
- Property Loss Disclaimer: Loss, theft, damage, defacement, or unreturned books are inherent risks voluntarily assumed by participants. The Organization and its officers assume no financial or legal liability for compensating any property loss.
- Offline Interactions: The Organization is not responsible for any neighbor disputes, privacy leaks, personal injury, or property damage resulting from offline book exchanges. All offline interactions are engaged in at the user’s sole risk and discretion.
3. Copyright & DMCA Compliance
- Physical Books Only: The Platform supports physical sharing of legitimate, printed books only. Uploading, distributing, or requesting pirated copies, unauthorized reproductions, digital scans, or infringing content is strictly prohibited.
- Takedown Policy: If a copyright holder believes that book information or cover images on the Platform infringe upon their rights, please contact the Organization. The Organization will promptly review and remove the relevant content upon receiving valid notice.
4. Account Termination
The Organization reserves the right to suspend or terminate access for any user who violates community guidelines, engages in fraudulent behavior, or disrupts the non-profit sharing ecosystem.
